The first dedicated drum module. I figured a kick drum would be a good place to start and found a cheap and simple option in the Thomas Henry Bass++.
Overall, a pretty simple build. It worked well first time, but the output was a bit quiet. This seemed, from researching the issue to be known problem with the design. Replacing the 100k resistor at R27 with a 150k one boosted the output nicely.
The module does a passable kick drum, but not really what I was hoping/looking for. It does, however, make excellent toms, congas and rimshots. I’ll find something else as a main kick drum.
