“Moog” Ladder Filter

Another day, another filter. This time, it’s the transistor ladder filter. Obviously a classic design and a flavour I very much like, and I had pretty much everything I needed in my spares box.

I went looking for a stripboard layout, but stumbled across this PCB design from Kassutronics. He had some PCBs, so I grabbed one, which arrived with a laser cut plywood panel.

I did the transistor ladder with SMT transistor pair chips and squeezed in the resistors on an angle as I didn’t have the right size. In fact, I made a few approximations that strayed a little from the BOM based on what I had in. Obviously I painted the panel black.

Sounds great!
