Headphone Amp

I’ve been putting together a little “lunchbox” case (actually an old DJ mixer flight case) and I needed a headphone amp for it. I had most of the bits needed to make one, so I started looking for schematics. I also knew that Forest Caver has designed a headphone amp, so reached out and he sent me his schematic (I can’t publish that here yet as he hasn’t released it yet).

I made a couple of changes to the schematic to fit my needs and marked up a stripboard.

It’s a very simple circuit with very few parts, that should work well with headphones of any impedance.

I made a panel up from an old 4hp blank panel I had and put it all together.

It works really well. Nice clean sound and goes nice and loud. I tested it with all my headphones and I’m very happy with it!
