Don’t ask about OB-XP1!
I wanted a power supply with a decent bit of grunt for a big case I’m working on. Discussing it in a Facebook group, Juanito from Modular for the Masses (the tin can synth man) told me about his PSU using cheap but powerful switching PSU boards from AliExpress.
After a couple of chats with Juanito, I designed this PSU, which provides 6A at +12V, 6A at -12V and 2.5A at 5V – serious overkill!!
Lots of people say bad things about switching supplies and ripple noise and I’m sure they’re absolutely right, but in my experience, it’s not an issue for me. It’s probably there, but I can’t tell/don’t care.
I made an enclosure out of an old sweet tub.
As this connects to mains, I’ve tried to be as safe as possible!
