Metal-O-Tron II

As so mucho if my music is percussion-based, I’m always on the lookout for interesting sound sources to make drums and percussive hits. I spotted the Skull & Circuits Metal-O-Tron II on a social media post and instantly wanted to build one.

I grabbed a PCB/panel set and started to build it up from what I had in stock.

It uses pretty common components on the whole, so I only had to order in a couple of bits.

It’s a really cool module, with 4 oscillators combining to create huge range of (mostly) metallic sounds. Loads of control over the shape and depth of the sound. My only gripe is that I really wish it had a pitch CV input; I’d love to be able to sequence the pitch.
