Spring reverb. I remember Analogue Stu raving about spring reverbs back in the day and I always use a lot of reverb, so it seemed like a good option to get some verb in the rack without spending a lot. I found a spring tank from an old Fender Blues Junior guitar amp on eBay for a few quid.
Looking around for a circuit to drive it, I found an early schematic Tom Whitwell had made during the development of the Music Thing Modular Spring Reverb. I also found a stripboard layout which someone had made and started to build it.
I already had all of the necessary components as I’m starting to build up quite a nice stock. It’s generally cheaper to over order components to hit a price break on stuff I’m using a lot of.
